II: GEOGRAPHY
- Population (2006 Estimate): 149,325
- Land Mass: approximately 816 km²
- Boundaries: Ika South, Oshimili, Ethiope West Ukwuani, Isoko and Ndokwa East LGAs
- Vegetation: Has evergreen rain forest but 70% deciduous trees
- Rainfall: 6’ of rainfall per annum; 6 months of rainfall and 6 months dry season and spells of harmattan (between late November and early January)
- Terrain: Upland region, plain lowland with very few hills associated with rivers that drain the region, with erosion challenges, especially along valleys in the coastal areas.
- Drainage: Drained by River Ase, Adofi, Okumeshi River, a seasonal river.

- Agriculture: Area is suitable for a wide range of agricultural activities in livestock, crop and tree crop farming, fishery. Currently, 85% subsistence farming and about 15% medium scale mechanized farming in crop farming. Vast potentials in rice farming now identified with FG plan to invest in small scale holdings.
